Southrop Community Shop & Post Office

village_shop_produce

The Community Shop in the Village Hall is the oldest in Gloucestershire.  It opened in January 1982 when the village was cut off after heavy snowfall.  There is also a Sub Post Office.  Both the Shop and Post Office are run by a team of local volunteers.

Opening Hours:

Shop & Post Office

Every Wednesday 08.45am to 11.30am

The shop sells a range of groceries, fresh fruit, vegetables, eggs and sourdough bread baked locally by Lynwood Bakery (external website).

The Post Office provides all usual post office transactions (except Road Fund Licences), including cash withdrawals with a card.

Please join us and make use of this fantastic community asset.  There is always a lively gathering; come and enjoy a cup of  tea or coffee and a slice of delicious homemade cake.  If you are just visiting the village or live slightly further afield you will be made most welcome.

We are always looking for volunteers to help run the shop.  No previous experience is needed.  If you would like to join the team or find out more about what is involved please contact Helen Shaftoe: helen.shaftoe@yahoo.co.uk
